Compliguard Protect Safeguards Confidential Information Across Firm’s Critical Systems

New York City — (January 6, 2010) – The Frayman Group (TFG), a leading provider of risk management software and services for law firms, today announced that Shearman & Sterling LLP has chosen the Compliguard Protect™ ethical walls and information barriers application to proactively secure and protect information across critical systems and applications firm-wide. TFG will install Compliguard Protect at the Firm’s offices this year.

Shearman & Sterling has approximately 900 attorneys in 20 offices throughout the world. The Firm chose Compliguard Protect after a detailed analysis because of the Firm’s confidence in TFG’s technology and flexible approach to client service. Compliguard Protect integrates with both Open Text LegalKEY® systems, which TFG has deployed for Shearman & Sterling, and Compliguard Flow, which the Firm has already purchased.

Compliguard Protect, designed specifically for law firms, protects sensitive information and reduces risk exposure by establishing, maintaining, monitoring and updating screens to proactively prevent unauthorized or unintended access. Compliguard Protect is part of the Compliguard Suite – The Frayman Group’s end-to-end risk management platform, designed to automate and enhance new business intake and lateral hire intake processes of law firms, including new business workflows, conflicts management, conflicts clearance, and ethical walls.

“Our firm is taking a comprehensive approach to our risk management modernization program,” said Mark Corradi, Director, Business Services & Project Management at Shearman & Sterling. “Compliguard Protect is the next technological component in this program. After a comprehensive review of commercially available products on the market, we chose The Frayman Group to deliver the firm’s software foundation for ethical walls.”

Judy Berman, Shearman & Sterling’s Manager of Conflicts & Compliance, remarked, “I am very excited to be working with The Frayman Group due to their fabulous unified vision for conflicts management. Their Compliguard system is very complete, secure and accurate and it will greatly increase our department’s efficiency, from both a time management and workflow perspective. From running and analyzing searches to resolving potential conflicts to setting up ethical walls when needed, The Frayman Group’s technology is a great time saver for our Firm and an essential addition to our available resources.”

According to Yuri Frayman, President and CEO of The Frayman Group, “We are very pleased that Shearman & Sterling has chosen Compliguard Protect to establish and monitor ethical walls, another important step in line with their adoption of a complete, end-to-end risk management strategy. We are looking forward to working with the risk management experts at the firm to secure their critical systems.”
